Warehouse 13 is back. First Some ranting than a review of the first episode.

When I first heard of Warehouse 13 I got quite excited. A show about a secret warehouse the government use to store all kinds of mysterious objects, I immediately saw the storage from Indiana Jones and a couple of x-file like agents in my head. I was thinking something like 30% mystical/ancient artifacts 20% ghost and monster related objects and a whooping 50% extraterrestrial stuff.

Turns out Warehouse 13 is a comedy show with 0% science and 100% ridicules explanations. There are no aliens, rarely ever technology-based objects, there are only Artifacts, things that belonged to famous people that possesses traits from their owner. I was pretty disappointed.

However, the fun characters and light tone of the show makes it watchable. It is not a bad show, just not what I hoped for.

Season 3 episode 1- Major spoilers ahead

Mika has left the warehouse and Pete gets a new partner, its Iceman Jimmy Olsen from Smallville, he plays the Steve Jinks an ATS agent recruited to fill the void.

Now, one thing that has always bothered me about wh13 is the agencies, the warehouse is run with government consent, and agents picked from various law enforcement agencies. But why do they stay in that agency? In the first season both Mika and Pete are recruited from the secret service, and they travel around investigating local crimes, the cops usually wonders why the secret service is there. Why not transferee all warehouse agents to FBI? Local crime, just say something similar happened in another state!  First seasons the wh13 agents meet little resistance. In the first episode of season 3 you have one secret service and on ATS agent investigating a local crime.  This time FBI is involved, the female FBI agent in charge throws Pete and Steve out of the crime scene, and continues to make their work difficult throughout the episode.

Pete asks Mika for help on the case, be cause its about Shakespeare and she is an expert. They stop the killing and Mika comes back to wh13, yeay… And Jimmy Steve Jinks also stays.

The henchman of the episode reports back to his evil master, who is backlit so you only see his silhouette, oohh I am excited who can it be!? The henchman has failed so he is killed by a sexy leather clad assassin- who is, and this was actually a surprise to me. The female FBI agent that hassled Pete and Steve!  Was she a real FBI agent or just posed as one? Anyways the bad guys get it, FBI makes more cense than using secret service, ATS, FDA or mall cops.

All in all it was a good episode. I do have hopes that the season arc will keep me intrigued.
